| Okay, I needed someone to make a thread of this.
It's based in Fantasy-Medieval times.
Magic is small time, like elemental things.[Fire, Lightning, Force(Pushing things not like star wars.), and Time.] Not many learn how to do it though due to laws and the price to education.
I believe it to be best for the role players to start as children. Of course I'd also suggest having backgrounds for their character. Ex: Bandit camp, poverty[Begger], Royalty[Prince/Princess or such.], and such on.
The conflict would probably be the king starting to do harsh things. Though I leave that up to the creator as do I leave any of these for the creator it was purely for suggestion. :]

| Eh, I'd go with reasonable sort, he's not completely a Tyrant though people still fear talking out against him.
My suggestion to the plot is he is trying to find a way to further his power in magical terms.

| We call our home Eiríni. We are known for our peaceful demeanor and hospitable personalities with anyone we encounter. Our country is powerful, and there is nothing more that could be wanted...right?
Wrong. We are still divided; we are set heavily into our hierarchy, and the poor remain poor, our rich still rich. Nobility, artists, and artisans hold heavy power on our streets, while peasants do...peasant work. They fill the mines, harvest fields, fish, etc. etc. Needless to say, they don't get the education the rich do.
The extremely rich and powerful, though few, can send their children to the many masters of magic across Eiríni to become apprentices and learn the ways of magic. This does not happen as often as assumed though, and less that 1% of the population are magi.
The king is always a great factor to add in, but he's never hurt our name, only emboldened it further. He controls his people, and his army stands strong, but the people do not loathe him. He brought with him the peace...but it's edges have begun to darken. He sees his powerful nobles, and his eyes darken with greed. Shifts have begun and the air is tinged with change.
