As he raises one blade with his other hand, it was as if time had slowed, giving him time to judge his next, and maybe last, action.
The only connection between them is the sludgehammer.
You're slower because of your foot, though.
His swinging is delayed, so it seems very possible to tire him down, if you have enough energy for such a thing.
He doesn't seem very smart, negotiation is a possibility, if you can get to a safe distance to speak with him.
