I was out of breath by the time I got out from under the overpass. I could now see street lights and Interstate 9, the main road that ran through the center of Edgewood. The pizzeria wasn't far.

I find myself on the sidewalk. I jog it all the way to Daldon's.

I arrive at the pizzeria. I look at the parking lot and realize that I'm the first here. I walk inside with my gym bag and sneak straight into the restroom, where I then begin to change into my spare change of clothing.

I was speeding and I didn't care. That...thing...was not human. As I was pulling out, I hit the curb and the whole car(truck?) went bouncing before settling back on the road. I sped for the pizzeria, biting my lip so hard my mouth was filled with blood. I glanced back at the disappearing center, the figure still under the awning.

Once I finished changing, I stuffed my clothes into my gym bag, and stuffed my shoes with tissue so that they could attempt to dry out. I threw on my Nike Foam Slides and walked out of the rest room. I ordered a table for six.
