I continued to walk down I-9. I wanted to call the others, but I decided that it was better to stay quiet.

"Rrrr...."

I looked around. Where the hell was that coming from? I looked behind me as the sound grew louder. I saw two beams of light and I classified it as a car. A challenger. It got closer. I backed up against a shop behind me as the car sped past. I was able to make out familiar faces. They were people from our school. A black sedan shot around the corner, following the challenger. I looked through the windows. More kids that didn't bother to stop for me.

I looked to the end of the block, waiting to see if a third car would come through. Nothing.

I turned back around sadly, slowly sliding my feet across the sidewalk.

I heard yet another noise.

I turned around and saw a faint outline of a figure on the ground. It was crawling towards me. It looked injured. "Help..." The voice faintly cried. It was a man. Against my better judgement, I ran to help this man.

When I reached him, he had given up on crawling away. He was now just laying faced down on the concrete. I could hear his choked tears. I knelt down, and slowly turned him over to see the damage and to see if there was any I could do to help.

My eyes widened and I stood.
I began slowly backing away from the escaped prisoner. "Where are you going!? Help me!" He pleaded. I turned and began running away.

Almost four seconds after I began running away from the escapee, I heard footsteps walk from around the corner. It was the masked killer. He stepped up to the man. He pulled a pair of latex gloves out of his pockets, and forced them on. He reached down, and picked the man up, tossing him over his shoulder and turning his back and then walking back to wherever he came from. He didn't look at me, though I knew he saw me.

I couldn't stop running. All I did was run. I hadn't paid attention to the ground below me, so my feet were now heavy from running through puddles. "Help!" I gasped, still running. I looked around for a secure place to hide. No where. I called out for help again.

No answer. I could take the time to stop and call the police, but it would do no good. The killer is probably far away by now, slicing up the prisoner even further.

I pulled out my phone as I ran, only for it to slip out of my hand and to go flying across the street. "Shit!" I hissed, running after it.

When I reached the main frame of the phone, I found that the back cover and battery were missing. I cut my losses and continued to run. I was planning and calling Zach to have them pick me up, but now that ship has sailed.

I sigh putting the rest of the pizza boxes on the car floor and stretching my legs across my seat. "We're just being idle." I observe.

(That's the spirit!)

Wyatt

After sprinting for so long, and as fast as I could, I slowed to a walk. I wanted to store whatever energy I had left. Every three seconds I would  turn to look behind me. I was determined not to be taken by surprise. About the fifth time that I turned to check my six, I noticed red and blue lights down the street behind me. I turned and began jogging after them, hoping that I could get an escort home. "Hey!!!" I shouted as I run. I noticed that the police cruiser had made a U-turn and was now driving away. "Hey!!" I shouted once more.

I saw the break lights come on, and sighed with relief. A man stepped out of the car, and a flashlight instantly blinded me. I covered my eyes, "Can you give me a lift!?" I call. "Yes!" the officer replied. I ran over to the car, and thanked the man. "Jus' get in the passenger." He said. The man seemed like he had a rough personality. Nothing new to me.

I opened the door, and got inside the tiny cabin of the front. There was a police scanner, a normal radio, a laptop of some kind. I knew this is what they used to check out licence plate numbers and whatnot. "So what in the hell are you doing out here? Did you not hear about the curfew? OR ANYTHING?" He asked, looking over at me like I was stupid.

"Yeah....I heard. I was walking back from my friend's house when I found out about everything. I was on the way to my house when I got lost in the dark. I'm farsighted. I couldn't make out the street signs." I lied.

"Where do you live, son?" He asked, accepting the lie.

"982 Van Ness." I said, giving him the address of my aunt, who lived only a block from my actual house. I was afraid that my father might have reported me to the police, and if he put in my actual address, something might have alerted him. There must be a warrant out for my arrest. I began to shake at the thought. I realized how deep of trouble I was in.

"Oh okay," He said as he slowed to a stop. He looked around, outside the windows. He nodded to himself, glad that he saw no one. He looked down to his laptop, and typed in 982 Van Ness in the computer.

RESULTS:

Residence Owner: Audrey Washington

Age: 43

Occupation: Owner of Washington's Finest Baked Goods [6020 E 82nd St]

Children: Grant Washington (15) and Denise Washington (11)

"You must be...Grant?" The officer asked. I looked over and smiled, holding out my hand. I had to keep up this act so he wouldn't become suspicious. He smiled and reached over and shook my hand. "Nice to meet you. I'm Christian Gibson." He said, turning on his high beams as he turned onto I-9.

It wasn't long before he reached my aunt's house. The lights inside weren't on due to the power outage, . He slowed to a stop at the curb in front of my aunt's house and I got out. "Have a good night. Stay safe, and stay inside." He warned before pulling away. I slowly walked through the gate, and towards the door, acting as if this was my home as I watched until he drove out of sight.

I turned around, and quietly moved back to the gate, quietly closing it behind me before I began to jog to my actual home. My mother taken my brothers to the hospital during her lunch break. I bet she had tried to contact me and was now worried. I planned on calling her when I got home to assure her that I was alive.

I groaned as I looked around and noticed all of the lights out.

The ringing stopped and I listened, but no answer. The prerecorded message started playing and I paled. I hung up and called again.

I looked around before I opened up the door. I noticed that the driveway was empty. I was frightened before I even walked through the doors of the my dark house.  I pulled my keys from my pocket, and fit my house key into the lock. I opened the door. "Who's there!?!" I heard a defensive shout. It was Jeff. "It's me!" I called as I saw his outline hopped down in front of me from the staircase. He was waving Louisville Slugger. "Where have you been!?" He asked, dropping the bat and running over to me.

"I'm fine." I said. "Where's Michael?" I asked. "He's hiding under the bed." He said, walking past me to lock the door again. "What about mom?" I ask next. "She's at the hospital. She's good too,"

I sighed in relief. "I need to lie down.." I told him, walking past him and walking up the stairs.

I walked up the stairs. "Michael?" I asked, looking around. "Where have you been?" He hissed,, crawling out from under the bed and running towards me. He dropped the hatchet and threw his arms around me.

"Out.." I replied, ending it there.

"How did you get home?" He interrogated. "I was at Jeremiah's house. We were watching TV when he saw the news. His mom drove me home." I lied.

I heard rain now tapping on the window.
