I heard a car sharply swerve around me as they turned from the intersection. I looked up from the steering wheel. "Hit me bitch!" I shouted, staring sadly at the nervous driver. He drove away, not bothering to stop. I groan, sitting back in my seat. I looked up at the mirror, watching the car disappear down the road.
In the bottom of my peripheral vision, I noticed a black blur run from one side of the road to the other. I looked down, though the figure was gone.
I turned the key in the ignition and put the car in reverse and slammed on the accelerator for two seconds until I decided it would be safer to put the car in drive before I would do any actual speeding a I once more made the trek back to town.
