Up ahead, I could see a body, as well as a large amount of broken trees. Black smoke was beginning to envelop his body, and rise to the sky in the forest.
I quickly hurried to his body, and I did a slide to get near his face.
"Z! What happened, man? Where is everyone?"
Underneath his cut up white, full face mask, he quietly said, "Y turned on us... The rebels were swift... with his help anyway..."
"And X? Where is X?"
"X wasn't here, oddly enough... maybe he knew about it all, and didn't want to be involved in killing us..."
"Where are they now?"
"I killed most of the rebels that went at me, but the remainders pulled Y outta here once I stabbed him, but at the same time, as you can see..." He moved his hand from his stomach, where he had a cut.
"His cut was a lot bigger than mine, at least..."
I swore underneath my breath, but I didn't show remorse or sadness in my eyes at all.
"How long will shadow protocol take before it takes action?"
"Only three more minutes. God hoping I don't bleed out in that time, or setting up shadow protocol only wasted my chance to kill that traitor..."
"You'll make it Z, I know that much."
I stood up, and smirked.
"I'm going to kill Y myself in due time, but I need to find X, and keep him away from the amateurs."
Z let out a small laugh. "Let's hope you're at least on time with them, from now on."
"I can't make you a promise on my punctuality, even on your grave."
