| Elle pulled herself out from underneath the bed, letting her spell fade. She propped herself up, near unconsciousness again.
Mariana reached the top and pushed open the door. They entered the top room and revealed dozens upon dozens of books and paintings and machines. "We once had an older brother, Thomas." She looked around. "He was so creative, always inventing or drawing or reading." She looked down. "He was our best friend. But father didn't like him focusing on the arts. So he sent him into battle." She walked to the giant portrait of him, Ellena and Mariana. He looked exactly like Ellena, just a little taller, his black hair brushed neatly into place. "He did not last long, and it was father's greatest regret."

It's clear that the humans have the numbers advantage, and are actually using more brutal tactics than usual. They don't just want to win, they want to make a point to their only ally left, the Orcs. It's also getting clear to the Lucertolia that helping people escape would reduce casualties more than staying and fighting.

| I can't use my pyromancy here, or I'll burn things down.
I need to clear out this area, then head to my father and make sure he's safe.
My sister shouldn't be in Lucertolia, so no worries about that.
Scott's with Ellena, he'll get her out of here. Hopefully they'll just leave or help others get out of here.
My only option is to kill all of them, and keep moving. If Lucertolia falls, I want it to burn down with a mountain of human bodies within.
