"Can you move sand?" Steve asked, curious. Being able to move hundreds of yards of sand seemed useful. With any luck, he wouldn't have to use his windstorm spell.

I looked and listened as they talked about their powers. We all know what we can do, it's just pointy that's getting to know us.

Evelynn shrugged. "I haven't tried it but I'm pretty sure I can."

"Why not just try right now? You don't have to create a wave of sand, just move a little."

Steve suddenly had very visceral flashbacks to the first time he ever read Dune.
"Why do people write this stuff?"
"It's fun to speculate."
"This is Terrifying!"
He looked back out over the desert again, this time looking for unexplained ridges. Unfortunately, the desert was full of ridges, and he couldn't tell an unintentional one from Wormsign.
Subtly, Steve altered his gait.

Evelynn concentrated on the sand and it began to move around them in a whirlwind power. She smiled.

"Well I'm more of the offence kind of guy, sorry to say" I said to them. "I can shoot my pistol really well, and I can manipulate fires from hell, which melt pretty much anything"

Steve watched the sand spiral around the group, and looked back at Evelynn. At least she seemed to be enjoying it.
"Hellfire? Nice."
A thought struck him.
"Hey...Walker, could you melt some of this sand into rough glass?" Steve asked.

"I'm wondering whether Evelynn could lift rough glass made of sand." He said. "Glass is certainly a more potent projectile than sand."

"I don't know, encasing enemies and filling their bodies with sand seems pretty effective. You can't dodge sand down to the tiniest grain."

Evelynn was quiet, watching them speculate about her powers. She could probably throw the glass but she agreed with Slayzo, the sand could suffocate a person in mere seconds.

"Yeah, the sand would be a better weapon." Steve said. Although the glass wouldn't be super-useful, he may be able to use it in a spell when they got back. "Speaking of which, where exactly are we headed? And how do you know if we are going in the right direction?"

"We should have enough water...right?"
Surviving in a place where fresh water was limited taught Steve to conserve. But even he needed water at some point. As a matter of fact, water sounded pretty good right now.

Evelynn kicked at the sand, thinking. "If we don't have enough water dehydration will become an issue though, and then we won't be on our A game to prove ourselves," She said as she looked at Walker.

"We'll be fine. No chance of us running out of water, we're not THAT far away, surely. If we are far enough away we run out of water, I'm going to impale pointy with a giant arrow probably. No offense."

"It should hopefully never come to that. I can just recall us." Steve said. Maybe he'd leave the demon behind. He smirked.

"I packed three full suitcases of water, unless you all absorb water like no one's bussiness" I said having two of them in my hand and casually kicked one in the center. "I think we'll be fine" I said as I began walking.

"Whenever someone says that, they end up not fine." Steve said, reaching for the suitcase.
WOW. That is a lot of water. Steve couldn't lift it, the staff and his pack all at the same time, although he made a valiant effort.

Evelynn looked at the suitcase of water, thinking of how poorly you must have to pack to think that traveling with suitcases across the desert was a good idea. She didn't really want to carry it, but Arrogant-Mc-Better-Than-Anyone-Face was walking away.
