We were all hidden in a courner, and the door was suddenly locked by Gatmen, who hid as well. The lights quickly came off as we then waited. In my hand I have my backpack, hoping that fight or flight will kick in and I can defend myself.

"On the safe wall, let's go," I ushered them to the side as I locked the door and clicked the lights off.

I crouched down underneath the computer desks, invisible to the door. Well...maybe this war was a big deal after all...
From outside the building...several helicopters landed as militant tanks and trucks drove up. From them came dozens upon dozens of Russian soldiers, and they began to lay waste to Lockwood Highschool. Every kid, teacher and administrator was dragged from the classrooms, every classroom searched and emptied. Everyone was lined up outside with little to no resistance after dear Principal Lockwood resisted. His brain was splattered across the front doors, a clear sign to everyone else as they were ushered through. A group of five soldiers swarmed the ISS room and Annie jumped back.

"Come with us," they said through their masks. Mrs. Smith tried to block them from Valren and me, but suddenly I was covered in a warm, sticky liquid. I froze in shock as I was pulled to my feet, Valren as well. "Move it." I stumbled out of the classroom, still in shock, drenched in blood.

| Once everyone had been ushered outside, a formal looking man stepped onto a tank, standing over everyone. Silence fell as all eyes turned on him. "You have been claimed as prisoners of war," he said. His voice echoed across the courtyard. "Adults and kids will be separated and then further separated into groups. Resolve yourself," he waved his hands and then the soldiers began to pull kids and teachers into groups. Annie and Valren were pulled into a small group including Damien, Lyle, Martin, Sam, and Nick. Annie could hardly move, still in shock of her blood splattered face.

| Now that the groups had been gathered, silence still echoing the courtyard, everyone was cuffed and led away to certain trucks, each to one. The adults were left in the courtyard.

I was tied behind Damien who was trying to struggle out of his bonds, his neatly slicked back hair falling out of place. "Just give up..." I mumbled and he looked at me. His eyes swept across my face and softened slightly. "I won't let them rule us."
